Dr. McManaway graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. After shadowing at Heartland Veterinary Hospital for many years, she returned as an associate veterinarian, bringing both familiarity and a fresh perspective to our team.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, her four pets, and reading in her spare time.

Together, our veterinarians are dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based veterinary care for dogs and cats in Elizabethtown and surrounding areas.

Dr. Paige Fulkerson

Veterinarian (DVM)

Dr. Paige Fulkerson is a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Hospital and has been practicing for two years. Dr. Fulkerson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University.

Dr. Fulkerson brings a passion for veterinary medicine and a wealth of knowledge to our hospital. With her gentle touch and soothing words, our clients and four-legged family members are comfortable and relaxed during their visit.

During her time off, Dr. Fulkerson works with large animals, enjoys hanging out with her four dogs and two cats. Spending time on the lake with family and friends and going to concerts.

Dr. Shelby Highbaugh

Veterinarian (DVM)

Dr. Shelby Highbaugh is a veterinarian at Heartland Veterinary Hospital and has been practicing for five years. She attended Western Kentucky University and Auburn University, where she developed her passion for providing high-quality companion animal care.

Dr. Highbaugh is dedicated to delivering compassionate medicine and treats every patient as if they were her own. She values building trust with both pets and their owners while ensuring each visit is as comfortable and positive as possible.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Highbaugh enjoys reading, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her dogs.

Dr. Brittany Grimes

Veterinarian (DVM)

Dr. Brittany Grimes is a graduate of Auburn University. She has known since she was the age of five that she wanted to help people and their pets.

Because of the desire from an early age to be a veterinarian, she has gained the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate care to the patient while making the client comfortable as she cares for their pets.

Brittany enjoys spending time with family and the outdoors during her time away from the hospital.

Dr. Will Flanagan

Veterinarian (DVM)

Dr. Flanagan has been with Heartland Veterinary Hospital since 1998. A graduate of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, he considers Heartland’s clients part of his extended family and treats each pet as if they were his own.

In addition to his work as a veterinarian in Elizabethtown, KY, Dr. Flanagan served on the Board of Trustees of the Hardin County Public Library. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys traveling with his wife and children and spending time fishing.

Outside of work, Krista stays very active. She trains dogs, participates in weightlifting, and enjoys activities such as dock diving, canine fun runs and obstacle courses, hiking, and camping.

Hannah has been a Veterinary Technician for nine years. Hannah graduated from Ball State University with a degree in biology.

Hannah prides herself on making patients as comfortable as possible in stressful situations. As a Surgery Technician, Hannah keeps pets safe during anesthetic procedures and spoils them with cuddles when they wake up.

In her free time, spending time with family, going to concerts, baking and hiking are Hannah’s favorite things.
